Ren Mocs
Our Ren - Mocs are the ultimate in style & comfort! Comfortable and long-lasting footwear,made primarily using American Bison or Bull Hide, they are ultra durable and supple at the same time. Top grain cowhide is used for the button block,heel cap & tabs because of its toughness & scuff resistance. It is also available in a wide range of colors. Your Ren - Mocs can even be made entirely from top grain or suede split for the same price.
Soling
Standard soling is your choice of latigo leather for a more period look or black conveyor belt. Conveyor belt is tough, long lasting,offers incredible traction & is very flexible. If you would like a different type of soling, please contact us.
Buttons
Buttons can be of heavy leather, wood, fancy metal, bone, antler or even fancy plastic. We can match most any you would like.
Insoles
Insoles are wool felt sewn to latigo leather.
Sizing
I begin the patterning process with a tracing of your foot & your measurements so that your boots are an exact fit. The pictures here are only a few examples of previous work. With your choice of color, design, buttons,etc... together we can create the boots of your dreams. I still wear my first pair(made of cowhide),3000 hard miles, resoled & still walking!
Pricing
Prices are for basic mocs with a staight button block & 2 tab heel block for 2 button or 3 button heel cap & tabs for 3 button and up. We only use a full heel cap for complete ankle support. Buttons will be heavy leather.

WHEN YOU GET YOUR BOOTS
These boots will be a tight fit. They should be. These are made to your feet, not on a last. To break them in,pick a dry day when you can be outside for a long while. Put your shoes on (without socks). Fill a large container about ankle high with warm water. Stand in the water until your feet are soaking wet, totally saturated. Then go out for a hike, or work in the yard.... Put your shoes through a wide range of movement bending, stretching, flexing. Keep your shoes on until they are completely dry. This is from my experience the best and quickest way to get your shoes to be a perfect fit.
HOW TO CARE FOR YOUR BOOTS
Once or twice a year treat your boots with Neatsfoot oil.Don't over do it with oils or conditioners as they impede the natural breathability of the leather and for lighter or brightly colored leathers will darken and change the color. You may also take your insoles out and wash them now and then to cut down on foot odor. I DO NOT recommend putting your boots in the laundry and washing them!! I have never done this and will not recommend it to you.
